Most recently, Simpkins was an executive producer for Writer & Director Brett Wagner's "CHIEF", the first Hawaii film accepted at the prestigious SUNDANCE FILM FESIVAL. This is her third project with Wagner; two shorts, "HER" and "DETOUR" received critical acclaim.
She was also an executive producer for the sold out romantic comedy "ALL FOR MELISSA" Simpkins also played a principal role in this clever homage to Cameron Crowe
(Writer & Director Gerard Elmore) She played opposite Cary Tagawa ("Memoirs of a Geisha", "Pearl Harbor") in the independent film "TWAIN" and has worked on the ABC hit series "LOST." Her production of "WAHINE O KE KAI" a documentary about a woman's heroic solo canoe voyage, caught the eye of Roger Ebert, who gave it an honorable mention at the Hawaii International Film Festival.
